At Phaseshift, I drive product strategy, technology evaluation, and business development for advanced meta-optics and next-generation optical systems. But my real work, across a decade in photonics, has always been the same: turning light into useful things. From doctoral research at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT-DRDO), Pune, to four years at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore — where I led the development of a DLP-based maskless optical lithography system and headed teams across metasurface design, fabrication, and characterization — I’ve followed ideas from simulation to cleanroom to working hardware to the people who need them.
I’ve published and patented along the way, but I’ve never measured my work in papers — I measure it in whether something useful exists that didn’t exist before. That conviction has shaped everything I do: conceiving product concepts grounded in both market realities and deep technology understanding, and building the collaborations across industry, academia, and government that carry them forward. Photonics today is quietly transforming defense and space systems, biomedical devices, LiDAR and autonomous sensing, semiconductor manufacturing, and quantum technologies — and my place is at that intersection, where emerging optics meets genuine industry need. I’m always open to conversations about photonics, deep-tech products, and collaborations.
